Wednesday Night: 5:30-9 pm

Practice/instruction only: 5/2, 5/16, 5/23 ($10 per practice)
Training Races only, no instruction: 5/30, 6/6, 6/13, 6/20 ($20 per race)

Practice/Instruction:

3 hours Start @6:00 PM

Practice/Instruction. Practices will cover beginner focused activities: How to ride in a group, cornering, riding pace line, simple tactics, A/B/C group race situations, etc...Instruction lasts as long as there are participants or until dusk.

Races:

  • 16K – 25 Laps
    • Women & Juniors
    • Start @ 6:15pm
    • 16K - 5 sprints
  • 20K – 30 Laps
    • Men 4-5
    • Women & Juniors
    • Start @ 7:00pm
    • 20K- 6 sprints
  • 40K – 60 Laps
    • Men 1-3
    • Women & Juniors
    • Start @ 8:00pm
    • 40K -12 sprints

Points Scoring

  • Sprints are every 5 laps and on the final lap
  • Points are scored by the first 4 riders:
    • 5 - 3 - 2 -1
    • 10 - 6 - 4 - 2 (middle and final sprints - the third and final sprint in the 16K race)
  • Points are cumulative from week to week.
  • 2 points for registering will be awarded to all entrants each week.
  • Ties on total points go to the rider who scored points latest in the race.

No Lapped Riders
We will pull riders for safety purposes. The course is small and there will be plenty of sprints, please choose your race accordingly.

This is a TRAINING series. Riders deemed to be riding in an overly aggressive or dangerous manner are subject to ejection by the officials.

Entry Fee: $20 per training race, $10 per practice, practice and races are free for first time riders and juniors. On-line registration is available at BikeReg.com. Race-day registration is available with $5 late fee, no late fee for practices. Entry fees are non-refundable.

Course: The Fort Hayes Oval: .7 km oval course that has a slight rise and generally a challenging headwind on the backside that will make tactics important.

Additional Information:

  • Riders must sign-in weekly, but only have to sign the release one-time
  • Riders will be issued one bib number for the ENTIRE series
  • Replacement numbers subject to a $5 surcharge
  • Riders must race the category displayed on their license. One-day license available for 20K & 16K races only
  • $10 practice fee is for USAC per rider insurance. This insurance allows us to hold this event
  • Practices will cover beginner focused activities: How to ride in a group, cornering, riding pace line, simple tactics, etc...
  • All proceeds from this event will go to the creation of a new criterium event located in the Columbus Metropolitan area
